There are few temperature-controlled product transporters with a record like Envirotainers. The company, which has been in the business since the 1980s, has built a robust network of cold chain transport solutions that reaches worldwide. One example, Envirotainer’s RAP t1 and t2 containers, are thermostat controlled heat exchangers powered by16 D-size alkaline batteries. Envirotainers use dry ice as a coolant and have a cooling range of -4º F to 68º F.  The 395.4-cubic-foot containers can keep items cold for up to 72 hours without re-icing. Envirotainers are suitable for use on a variety of aircraft and come equipped with temperature sensors built into the container’s ceiling. A variety of containers are available for both short and long term leasing.
