Dorner AquaGard
Industry insiders say that getting new products to market quickly, safely and efficiently is more important today than ever before. Food safety is top of mind with consumers. Meanwhile, sustainability and being first-to-market with innovation are chief concerns for food processing leaders.

Dorner Manufacturing Corp.’s newest conveyor line addresses all of these concerns. This February, the Hartland,Wis.-based company will launch AquaGard, the latest addition to a broad conveyor family. Officials say the new line is ideal for non-protein ready-to-eat foods, fruits, vegetables, bakery products and many more applications.

“AquaGard is a pre-engineered, standard product so it eliminates the cost, long lead times and risk associated with custom conveyors,” said Food Marketing Manager John Kuhnz. Dorner officials say customers asked for a conveyor system that could run a greater variety of products at a faster pace with less product loss, more uptime. In addition a need for sophisticated automation, small footprint, safety features and economical price points were noted.

“At Dorner, we’re committed to offering the easiest-to-order, easiest-to-accessorize and fastest shipping conveyors on the market,” Kuhnz added.

AquaGard fits the bill with straights, curves, inclines and declines all available. The unit moves product at speeds up to 260 feet-per-minute. Options such as powered transfer and 1-inch nosebar tails reduce product loss by keeping transfers smooth. Accessory bars can be mounted on the unit, which allow users to affix components, such as photo eyes and low voltage wires, on the conveyors without having to drill into the conveyor.

Dorner officials note that all materials used to build the conveyors are FDA and BISSC approved. These materials include TIG welded stainless steel and UHMW wear strips located beneath the belts.

Features such as self-lubricating rollers and cast and injected components reduce both the likelihood and cost of replacement pieces.

AquaGard is available in lengths up to 83 feet, widths between 4 inches and 36 inches and can hold loads up to 750 pounds.
