The National Turkey Federation (NTF), Washington, D.C., presented its annual “Turkey on the Menu” (T.O.M.) awards to foodservice operators in three foodservice categories.In the fast-food/quick-serve category, NTF recognized the Jason’s Deli chain, based in Beaumont, Texas, for its wide variety of turkey sandwich and salad offerings while promoting health and the environment. An operator with more than 200 locations nationwide, Jason’s Deli promotes more than 11 sandwiches that feature turkey on its menu.

J. Alexander’s, a Nashville, Tenn-based chain with 33 locations, earned NTF’s fine-dining award for its creative approach to adapting the traditional turkey sandwich to a white-tablecloth setting.

Aramark Corp., Philadelphia, was a repeat winner in the non-commercial foodservice category. NTF said Aramark displayed a variety of value-added turkey applications across many dayparts, segments and cuisines. An operator with nearly 55,000 units with 13 different channels of managed services (including universities and healthcare facilities), Aramark uses 18 specified turkey products that total more than 30 million pounds of turkey annually.
