EXECS ON THE MOVE

TheGreeley (Colo.) Tribunereported that meat processing giantJBS USA, Greeley, hiredBill Rupp  as president of the beef division. Rupp succeeds Richard Vesta, who was appointed president in March 2009 when JBS USA bought the Smithfield Beef Group.

Rupp, 50, previously was CEO of Meyer Natural Foods. He also had  25 years experience with Cargill Meat Solutions. He left as president of that company in 2008, theTribune reported.



Dairy processing giantDean Foods, Dallas, saidHarrald Kroeker, 50, stepped down as president of Dean's Fresh Dairy Direct (FDD) division, although he will remain at Dean through the end of November. Dean also said it promotedChris Sliva, 47, to chief commercial officer, a new position.

Sliva is president of Dean's Morningstar Division. In his new role, Sliva will be responsible for directing the commercial strategy of both the FDD and Morningstar divisions' sales and lines of business, Dean said. Sliva reports to Joe Scalzo, president and chief operating officer."

Dean said Sliva will help the company more "closely align the company's sales organizations, commercial lines of business, and customer relationships." His immediate goal will be to create and execute selling strategies tailored for key accounts and channels across categories, said officials.

Sliva joined the Dean Foods WhiteWave division in 2006 as senior vice president of sales and chief customer officer. In 2008, he was promoted to chief operating officer, Morningstar;and to president, Morningstar in January 2010.
