Caviness Beef Packers, Hereford, Texas, announced plans to grow its beef business through the acquisition of San Angelo Packing Co., San Angelo, Texas.

“The Stokes family (owners of San Angelo Packing) has built a solid organization with a firm foundation that complements our existing business,” according to Caviness Beef Packers. “Furthermore, we look forward to working with Jarrod Stokes and his existing management and becoming an integral part of the vibrant San Angelo, Texas, community.”

Caviness Beef Packers has grown from harvesting a handful of cattle to processing close to 2,200 heads a day. The acquisition will give Caviness Beef Packers an additional three processing locations—two harvest and fabrication operations in Hereford and San Angelo and a ground beef plant in Amarillo, Texas.
