Suddath Global Logistics LLC (SGL), headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., acquired PenserSC, a third-party logistics (3PL) company also in Jacksonville, Fla., that provides warehousing and logistics services.

“The acquisition of PenserSC further enhances our ability to support customers who need a full menu of logistics services for their distribution center and manufacturing activities,” says Barry Vaughn, chief executive officer of The Suddath Cos. “This is the second acquisition for our logistics division over the past six months, which demonstrates our commitment to strategic expansion in an effort to best serve our ever-growing global customer base.”

Suddath Global Logistics will continue to offer domestic and international logistics, transportation, warehousing and distribution solutions with the addition of Penser’s established strengths in food, consumer goods, healthcare and manufacturing logistics. Penser provides a temperature-controlled LTL and truckload network, value-added manufacturing support services, food and FDA-certified facilities and operations and advanced supply chain control systems.

“The PenserSC acquisition will allow SGL to offer a broader and more sophisticated range of asset- and non-asset-based logistics solutions to the marketplace, and better leverage our existing national infrastructure to serve customers looking for traditional and value-added services,” says Mike Brannigan, executive vice president and COO of The Suddath Cos. “We look forward to adding Penser’s proven capabilities and management team to our service portfolio.”

With Penser, SGL adds additional warehousing capacity in Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami and now has more than 2.5 million square feet of warehouse space nationwide.

"We are very proud to become part of the Suddath Global Logistics family. SGL provides a solid international network in which PenserSC will thrive by adding advanced supply chain functionality,” says Shawn Barnett, former CEO and newly appointed president of PenserSC. “SGL and Penser share a culture of award-winning service. We are confident we will continue a 105-year legacy of quality and innovation as part of this great organization.”
