ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, Lawrenceville, Ga., presents the energy-saving Albany Therma Series of high-performance doors for cold storage facilities. ASSA Abbloy cold storage door

Cold storage facilities require an extremely durable and reliable door that can open and close hundreds of times a day, providing fast access while eliminating ice and frost buildup. The Albany ThermaChill and Albany ThermaFreeze eliminate the compromise that often happens between temperature control, energy costs and productivity.

Both the Albany ThermaChill and Albany ThermaFreeze deliver fast opening speeds of up to 130 inches per second. The door curtains are constructed from Climatex cellular insulation, which works to prevent ice and condensation buildup on the panel material. The Albany ThermaChill is ideal for high traffic areas where the temperature differential is between 32°F and 45°F, whereas the Albany ThermaFreeze is optimal for dual-climate facilities where temperatures below -20°F open into ambient temperatures. Plus, Albany ThermaFreeze can be equipped with heated side frames and a low voltage, energy-saving, room temperature airflow system.

Both products reduce the “melt and freeze cycle,” which can cause workers to slip or forklifts to lose control. And, they can be outfitted with a safety light curtain, which provides a 6-foot-high grid of infrared beams across the door. If the grid is interrupted, the door will automatically reverse the door to the open position.
