Choptank Transport, Preston, Md., opened two new office locations in Tampa, Fla., and Dallas, Texas.

“Our expansion to Tampa and Dallas is being led by two exceptionally talented general managers,” says Geoff Turner, president and CEO. “The new offices will help meet the needs of both existing and new customers by expanding both our carrier and employee bases in these regions.”

The Tampa branch will open Nov. 1, and will be headed by Scott Jarrett, who has worked at Choptank’s headquarters since 2011, filling the managerial position of corporate recruiter and trainer.

“Growth into the Southeast, and in particular Florida, will allow us to deepen our relationships across all aspects of our logistics operation,” says Jarrett. “We also look forward to creating numerous sales-based career opportunities within the Tampa Metro area by tapping into the wealth of great talent the area can provide.”

The Dallas office will open in December with Grant Lehman in the role of general manager. He was recruited out of college by CH Robinson for its Des Moines, Iowa, office. In 2006, he transferred to the Plano, Texas, office where he was promoted to key account manager/Midwest zone leader. In 2009, he was named strategic account manager.

“Dallas-Fort Worth is the fourth-largest market in the United States, while the state of Texas has a GDP similar to the countries of Australia and Spain,” says Lehman. “This makes it an ideal location for Choptank Transport to expand and open up shop.”
