Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association, Vernon Hills, Ill.
Brett Wood, president and CEO of Toyota Material Handling North America, was appointed to serve on the 2014-2015 Manufacturers Board of Advisors. In addition, Wood serves as a board member for The Raymond Corp. and for TIEM, Toyota’s zero-landfill forklift manufacturing facility in Columbus, Ind.

North Carolina State Ports Authority, Wilmington, N.C.
The port authority welcomed three new members— Tom Adams, president and CEO of Adams Building and Consulting Co., LLC, has extensive experience in construction management, development and general construction; Bill Keadey, a certified public accountant from Emerald Isle, has enjoyed a long professional career with financial consulting firm Deloitte, serving as partner in both the Dayton, Ohio, and the Raleigh, N.C., offices; and Bill McMahon, founder, president and CEO of CoaLogix (owner of SCR-Tech), who joined SCR-Tech with 28 years of business operations, sales, marketing and engineering experience in the energy and utility industries.

Meanwhile, Paul Cozza was named the new executive director, bringing to the role extensive, high-level executive experience in the international transportation and logistics industry. He previously served as chief financial officer, senior vice president for finance and administration and vice president for network planning for Maersk Line Ltd. Cozza also has more than a decade of experience with CSX Corp./Sea-Land Service Inc., where he was the vice president for terminal operations, general manager, Europe and the tradelane director for Asia container services.

Handy International, Salisbury, Md.
Rob Lux was promoted to vice president, club channel. Lux joined Handy in March 2013 and maintans with extensive experience in selling food products to both club and retail outlets. His previous work experience includes ConAgra Foods and AdvancePierre Foods.

Tyson Foods, Inc., Springdale, Ark.
Flavio Malnarcic was promoted to president and general manager of Tyson do Brasil, the company’s subsidiary in Brazil. Malnarcic joined Tyson do Brasil in 2010 as director of finance and accounting. Before he joined the company, he worked in accounting and finance with Cargill for a total of 17 years, including six years in its U.S. operations and 11 years with Cargill do Brasil.

FOODSERVICE:

Burger King International, Miami, Fla.
Fernando Machado was named senior vice president, global brand management, responsible for managing the company’s global brand and global brand positioning and establishing brand consistency across borders while maintaining a respect for local cultures and guest preferences. Most recently, Machado was the global brand development vice president for Dove skin cleansing and care at Unilever.

SUPPLIERS:

NDC Infrared Engineering, Irwindale, Calif.
Drew Cheshire was named president, replacing Dr. Bromley Beadle, who recently retired following 18 years with the company. Cheshire joins NDC from Scott Fetzer (a Berkshire Hathaway Co.), where he was the general manager of Meriam Process Technologies. Prior to that, heheld senior management roles with Ronan Engineering, Teledyne, Jay Industrial Technologies and Emerson Process Management.

HighJump Software, Minneapolis
Craig Crawford was named Canadian territory manager of the supply chain execution group, responsible for leading the growth and expansion of the HighJump Supply Chain Advantage suite in Canada. Crawford has spent nearly two decades in software sales with a strong focus on supply chain. 

Harpak-ULMA Packaging, LLC, Taunton, Mass.
Carson Howard joined as regional sales manager for the Southwest states (AR, LA, MS, NM, OK, TX), responsible for developing business opportunities and managing customers and channel partners for ULMA thermoformers, blister, skin and shrink packaging equipment lines, as well as Mondini tray fillers and sealing and lidding machinery. Howard has 24 years of experience in the packaging industry working for companies like Benchmark Automation, Pro Mach and Robopac. His experience includes food packaging for a variety of baked and frozen products, automated bagging, case packing, shrink wrapping, conventional palletizing, stretch wrapping and robotics for case packing and palletizing.

Americold, Atlanta
Fred Boehler, the company’s chief operating officer, was also named as president, effective March 31, taking over for Jeffrey Gault, who is retiring from his president and CEO post. Boehler joined Americold in February 2013 after serving as senior vice president of supply chain with SUPERVALU, Inc. Prior to SUPERVALU, Inc., he was senior vice president logistics and purchasing at Borders Group, Inc., where he oversaw distribution operations, industrial engineering, logistics planning and purchasing.
