Phillips Foods, Inc., Baltimore, Md., developed a line of encrusted fish that are both tasty and easy to prepare. Phillips Seafood dip inbody

The Phillips To Go line, located in the refrigerated section of retail outlets, provides consumers with a convenient heat-and-eat meal option. The new products include:

Lobster Cakes— four cakes made of delicate North American lobster with onion, celery, butter crackers and a dash of citrus

Lobster Mac & Cheese— a blend of lobster and cavatappi pasta with creamy cheddar, Monterey Jack and parmesan cheeses

Tuna Burgers— four albacore tuna burgers mixed with a savory blend of garlic, onion and herbs.

All were inspired by successful menu items at Phillips Seafood Restaurants and are sealed with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) technology to provide a 40-day extended shelf life.

The encrusted fish selection is available using sole fillets and entails:

Tri-Color Tortilla—brightly colored tortilla pieces with crunchy coating on tender, flaky fillets.

Lime & Cilantro Chimichurri—a crispy top-coated fillet loaded with citrus and herbs for a Latin-inspired taste.

Spicy Sriracha—a blend of hot chili paste on a spicy crusted fillet.

Additionally, Phillips created two new frozen seafood dips under its Soup For One brand. Honey Chipotle Crab is a sweet and spicy dip with crab, chipotle peppers, cumin, cilantro, corn and black beans, whereas the Bacon Horseradish Seafood is a spicy and smoky cream cheese-based dip with plenty of shrimp, crab and bacon and a touch of horseradish for heat.

“Crafted by our own restaurant chefs, these new on-trend products meet consumers’ demand for high-quality seafood they can easily prepare at home,” says Rebekah Cady, marketing and packaging manager. “From quick meals to sophisticated snacks, our seafood will always exceed their expectations for its great taste and convenience.”
