Clear Lam Packaging Develops New Yogurt Pouch for Stonyfield

Clear Lam Packaging, Inc., Elk Grove Village, Ill., worked with Stonyfield, Londonderry, N.H., to develop special packaging films for a new yogurt pouch for the Stonyfield pouchYoBaby, YoTot and YoKids brands, sold in the refrigerated aisle.

“Grab-and-go snacking is fueling demand for portable packaging while consumers gravitate to organic, nutrition-rich products,” says James Sanfilippo, president and CEO of Clear Lam Packaging. “Stonyfield has been at the forefront of these trends with their natural, organic foods for babies, toddlers and kids. Clear Lam is proud to support this new product launch with a lightweight and durable packaging solution that meets real consumer needs while delivering sustainability benefits.”

Designed for consumer convenience, the new yogurt pouch packaging films are used to assemble a pouch with a fitment on a horizontal form-fill-seal machine. The film material supports a 60-day refrigerated shelf life, runs on high-speed processing equipment and absorbs distribution abuse. The material’s stiffness also helps the finished packages stand up straight on store shelves for better merchandising. The resealable cap provides convenience and portion control to help reduce food waste and provides consumers with a reliable packaging solution for on-the-go consumption.
