Margaret Edgell Core was hired as vice president of industry events, responsible for leading the organization’s annual event, FMI Connect, the Global Food Retail Experience, and ensuring the event continues to grow. Core is a 25-year veteran of association sales and marketing with expertise in brand management, product strategies, event marketing, exhibit sales, program development, advertising and online media sales. She recently ran strategic sales initiatives at the National Apartment Association, where she was responsible for increased participation and growth from the supplier community. Over the last two years, she created a year-round sponsorship recognition program, NAA 360°, and spent six years at the Biotechnology Industry Organization as managing director of sales and marketing for the BIO International Convention.

Food & Drink Resources, Denver, Colo.
The restaurant and food and beverage consulting firm appointed chef David Woolley, responsible for continuing business development with multi-unit restaurant brands, food and beverage manufacturers, boards and commissions. Woolley brings more than 20 years of experience in the culinary world, having worked in 4- and 5-star restaurants, co-owning a restaurant, serving as executive chef for Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., and most recently, owning his own culinary consulting company, CD Culinary Approach.

Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia Ltd.
Russell Sturzaker was appointed executive officer, replacing David Costelloe, who retired after more than nine years serving the organization. Sturzaker has extensive experience in the not-for-profit sector, currently serving as chairman of the Australasian Society of Association Executives (Melbourne Chapter) and chief executive officer of Four Wheel Drive Victoria, where he was responsible for the overall development and management of the association, providing services to members and key stakeholders in accordance with the strategic intent, statutory requirements and membership agreements. He also initiated, developed and implemented sound business practices, financial planning and reporting, and helped build the membership base through strong communication, marketing and consultation skills.

International Ice Cream Association, Washington, D.C.
Rich Draper, chief executive officer of The Ice Cream Club, Inc., was elected secretary.

Allen Harim Foods, LLC, Seaford, Del.
Industry veteran Pat Haynes was named breeder manager, responsible for managing all breeding operations from the Liberty, N.C., breeding facility. Haynes maintains more than 25 years of animal agriculture knowledge, including a decade in breeder management. Before joining Allen Harim, he most recently worked for Perdue Farms, where he served as the grandparent production manager of the Georgia and Tennessee Heritage Breeder and Hatchery program. He also worked as flock supervisor and egg warehouse manager at Perdue.

Dean Foods Co., Dallas
Ralph Scozzafava joined as executive vice president, chief commercial officer, replacing Marty Devine, who is leaving the company. Scozzafava maintains more than 30 years of experience in consumer goods in the grocery category. Most recently, he was chairman of the board and CEO of Furniture Brands International, where he built organizational capabilities and improved operating results. Prior to this role, Scozzafava held several general management, sales, marketing and operations leadership roles at Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co., where he ultimately served as vice president of worldwide commercial operations, managing a $5 billion business with more than 10,000 employees in the United States and in 180 countries. Scozzafava also spent many years in management with Johnson & Johnson, Clorox and the Campbell Soup Co.

Associated Food Stores, Hewlett, N.Y.
Zulema Wiscovitch was appointed executive vice president and chief administrative officer, responsible for marketing, sales operations, government affairs, strategic planning and human resources. Wiscovitch was executive director of the National Supermarket Association, and brings years of experience in the supermarket, beverage and retail industries. Previously, she was geographic marketing manager for the Northeast region at Anheuser-Busch, Inc., responsible for the development of marketing, promotional and media programs aimed at minority retailers and consumers for brands such as Budweiser, Bud Light and Stella Artois. Before joining the marketing team, she was manager of corporate relations, where she awarded grants and created outreach programs that positioned Anheuser-Busch Cos. within the diversified Latino community in the East Coast. She was also vice president at Wiscovitch Associates, Ltd., where she managed Fortune 500 clients.

A leader in packaging and coatings solutions appointed Kathleen McJohn as general council, serving as the senior legal advisor of the corporation. McJohn will work closely with current legal representatives, business units and executive team members to build a legal department closely aligned with the company’s corporate strategy and objectives. She brings over 20 years of private practice and global corporate experience, most recently serving as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at WMS Industries, where she transformed the business from net losses to one of the fastest growth companies on NYSE. Prior to WMS, McJohn was employed with Sears, Roebuck and Co., Amoco Corp. and Latham Watkins.
