Supply chain solutions provider, NFI, Cherry Hill, N.J., partnered with GAIN Clean Fuel to build a new compressed natural gas (CNG) station in Kissimmee, Fla. The station will provide 12 CNG trucks to NFI’s fleet serving Central Florida.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for NFI and GAIN Clean Fuel,” says Bill Renz, general manager for U.S. Gain, a division of U.S. Venture, Inc., an Appleton, Wis.-based distributor and marketer of energy, automotive and lubricant products. “This station is strategically located in Central Florida along NFI’s carrier routes, giving them a fueling option that delivers lower costs and emissions when compared with diesel fuel.”

The Kissimmee station will be located at 1901 South Poinciana Boulevard and is the 48th GAIN Clean Fuel location in operation or under construction throughout North America.

“This partnership allows us to meet many of our company’s core values,” says Bill Bliem, senior vice president of fleet services for NFI. “We’re committed to creating continuous improvements, whether it’s providing services to our clients or helping to improve the environment through the conversion to CNG. We have a social responsibility as a company, and we are always looking for ways to demonstrate our corporate citizenship. Converting these 12 trucks to operate on CNG helps us accomplish that.”

GAINClean Fuel has a goal to have more than 100 new stations in the next two years. The Kissimmee site will be completed and open for operation in August 2015, and will provide easy-access, fast-fill capabilities. It will also accept fleet cards and be open for use by other fleets and the general public.
