Gordon Food Service, Grand Rapids, Mich., opened the doors to its new 420,000-square-foot distribution center in Imperial, Pa., 16 miles west of Pittsburgh. The distribution center began shipping in May and now employs 200 people. The company expects to employ 300 people within 3-5 years.

“We are excited about what this new facility will bring to the community, and we look forward with great anticipation to the growth prospects it represents,” says Dan Gordon, chairman of the board. “The efforts of our outstanding Gordon Food Service sales, transportation and warehouse teams have given us the opportunity to build this facility to serve our current and future customers in this area.”

With Imperial's attractive business climate and proximity to customers, this distribution center helps position the company for future growth in the northeast region.
