Biery Cheese, Louisville, Ohio, opened the doors to its new cheese production facility in Plover, Wis.

Biery acquired the plant when it purchased Kickapoo Valley Cheese Co. in April 2014.

Approximately 140 employees of Kickapoo’s Sherry, Wis., plant will be moving to the new facility, which is called Biery-Plover, in September, and will be led by plant manager, David Bohman.

“Both organizations share in the belief of service and innovation of packaging, coupled with generations of experience,” says Ben Biery, chief executive officer. “Continuing with our tradition of growth, this addition will help us strategically position our company to service our existing customers along with developing new customers.”

“Biery’s impressive growth curve, excellent reputation and desire to participate in the Wisconsin dairy industry will help carry on the work and tradition we started with Kickapoo Valley Cheese back when our family founded the company in 1978,” says Jim Leytus, former owner.

The Biery-Plover facility works with natural, specialty, organic, kosher and rBGH-free cheeses, and offers slicing and packaging of cheese in shingles, stacks, party trays, cubes, chunks and wedges.
