Nutrisystem, a Fort Washington, Pa., provider of weight management products and services, opened a new warehouse in Troy, Ill., to meet growing consumer demand for the Nutrisystem Uniquely Yours program, which gives customers the ability to choose the largest selection of frozen options.

Through an agreement with long-standing distribution and fulfillment partner, OHL, a third-party logistics provider based in Brentwood, Tenn., the 40,000-square-foot warehouse will increase operational and logistical efficiency and decrease shipping time.

The new space allows Nutrisystem to increase its capacity by 60% and expand its production line to support additional SKUs. In addition, 99% of customers will now receive their orders within two business days of the order leaving the warehouse as opposed to 80% of customers today.

“Our goal is to provide cost-effective supply chain solutions that, at the same time, deliver high levels of customer service and satisfaction,” says David Burton, senior vice president operations and general manager, retail for Nutrisystem. “With the addition of this sixth warehouse, we’re able to operate more efficiently and improve the overall customer experience by getting more product out the door and to the customer more quickly.”

The Troy facility is fully operational and added 50-70 new jobs. It also sets the stage for continued retail expansion as well as the re-launch of the South Beach Diet brand, which Nutrisystem acquired in December 2015.
