AGED CHEESE RIPE

Vermont Creamery unveiled its newest aged cheese, St. Albans, which is a unique American take on the French St. Marcellin. This is the company’s first aged cheese made from 100% cows’ milk and is on track to be its first non-GMO-certified cheese. This cheese recalls Vermont Creamery’s longstanding partnership with St. Albans Cooperative, and takes its name from St. Albans, Vt. The delicate cheese disks are gently placed in sturdy ceramic crocks and wrapped in a breathable perforated film. The interior of the cheese becomes soft and spreadable. St. Albans is available in retail beginning in October.


SNACKS, DIPS, DRINKS FEATURING GREEK YOGURT

Chobani released an assortment of new products, including Chobani Flip, which features Greek yogurt paired with all-natural fruit mix-ins, available in Peanut Caramel Satisfaction, Apple Crisp Twist & Honey, That’s Nuts!. Chobani Flip also now comes with creamy whole milk yogurt in Pure Blueberry, Pure Raspberry, Pure cherry and Pure Pear & Honey varieties. Chobani Simply 100 Crunch is said to be the first and only 100-calorie Greek yogurt with crunchy, natural goodies on the side, available in Black Cherry Pie, Lemon Meringue Crisp, Mixed Berry Crumble and Raspberry Chocolate Twist. Chobani Kids tubes feature non-GMO ingredients blended with low-fat, creamy yogurt in freezable tubes in Strawberry-Banana (with Batman packaging). Chobani ventured in to the deli section with Chobani Meze dips, featuring real veggies, herbs and spices blended with creamy Greek yogurt. Chobani Meze dips come in Roasted Red Pepper, Three-Pepper Salsa, Chili Lime and Smoked Onion Parmesan. Drink Chobani is a yogurt beverage made with only natural, non-GMO ingredients to offer a smooth and simple yogurt, available in Strawberry Banana, Apple Cucumber Spinach, Mango and Mixed Berry.


TRADITIONAL ICELANDIC SKYR YOGURT

Icelandic Provisions launched what is said to be the only line of traditional Icelandic skyr products available in the United States. The initial rollout includes Plain, Vanilla, Strawberry with Lingonberry, Blueberry with Bilberry, Peach with Cloudberry and Coconut and Raspberry. Icelandic Provisions is made with preserved heirloom skyr cultures, a centuries-old proprietary ingredient. Each package features a “fruit cairn” as a nod to its Icelandic heritage. Icelandic Provisions is currently available in the North Atlantic, Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions in approximately 900 retail partners such as Whole Foods, Wegmans, Shop Rite, Shaw's, Sprouts, Target, Heinen's and Safeway. HAND-RUBBED CHEESE WITH SEASONING

Sartori launched new Chipotle BellaVitano, which is hand-rubbed with a south-of-the-border-inspired blend of seasonings to deliver a fusion of smoke, spice, garlic and onion.


LACTOSE DELI-CUT CHEESE

GO VEGGIE went artisanal with new GO VEGGIE lactose and soy-free deli-cut sliced cheese, said to feature 40% more calcium and 50% less saturated fat than ordinary cheese. Made from coconut and rice, these deli slices come in White Cheddar and Sriracha, available in the produce, dairy or natural set of conventional and natural grocery stores nationwide. GO VEGGIE Deli Cuts boast a suggested retail price of $5.99 for a 7.5-ounce pack of 10 ¾-ounce slices.


HUNGER-CURBING, 100-CALORIE YOGURT SMOOTHIES

Borden’s LALA brand introduced new portable hunger-curbing yogurt smoothies, called LALA Healthies Curb, which combine grains and proteins for a nutritious beverage that fights hunger while on the go. LALA Healthies Curb boasts 10 grams of protein and 8 grams of whole grains, and comes in Wild Strawberry, Toasted Pecan and Orange Pineapple. LALA Healthies Curb is available at grocery stores and retailers nationwide in 4-packs of 6.7-ounce bottles. LALA also debuted 100-calorie yogurt smoothies, available in Wild Strawberry, Mountain Blueberry and Cherry Vanilla at grocery stores and retailers nationwide in 4-packs of 7-ounce bottles.


COOKIE TWO STEP ICE CREAM

Blue Bell introduced Cookie Two Step, a creamy vanilla ice cream with hints of brown sugar, combined with chunks of chocolate crème-filled cookies and chocolate chip cookie dough pieces. Cookie Two Step will be available in limited quantities in the half-gallon and pint sizes.


PREMIUM ICE CREAM SANDWICHES

Cumberland Farms introduced a new line of Farmhouse premium ice cream sandwiches in Blissful Chocolate Brownie and Rapturous Black Raspberry Chocolate. SWEET AND SPICY YOGURT

Noosa released a sweet and spicy combination of yogurt. Available in 8-ounce containers are Raspberry Habanero, Pineapple Jalapeno, Mango Sweet Chili, Blackberry Serrano and limited-batch Bhakti Chai, and in 4-ounce, 4-packs is a Mexican Chocolate flavor.


GRASSMILK YOGURT

Organic Valley launched grassmilk yogurt, made from 100% grass-fed cows and whole milk. This yogurt features cream on top, and comes in Wild Blueberry, Strawberry, Plain and Vanilla.


CRACKER-CUT CHEESE SLICES

Dutch Farms released Cracker Cuts cheese, set to hit store shelves in numerous grocery retail chains across the Chicago area. Each 10-ounce package contains 20 pre-cut slices of pure, Wisconsin-made cheese. Cracker Cuts come in Sharp Cheddar, Marble Jack and Pepper Jack.


COTTAGE CHEESE WITH PINEAPPLE ADDED

HP Hood released Hood Cottage Cheese with Pineapple Added, which is packed with valuable nutrients for smoothies, ice cream substitution, dips or as is. Hood Cottage Cheese with Pineapple Added is available in dairy cases throughout the Northeast in 16- and 24-ounce containers.


SHEETS OF CHEESE

Lotito Foods introduced Folios, which are lightly baked sheets of cheese made from Parmesan, Cheddar or Jarlsberg cheese. Folios can be crisped in the microwave or oven and crumbled for use on salads and soups, or eaten alone as a crunchy cheese snack. They also can be molded into an edible bowl for salads or pasta or melted over omelets or soups. Folios are available in a 4-count pack for a suggested retail price of $5.99 or come in 10-packs for foodservice operators.


FRUIT-ON-THE-BOTTOM COTTAGE CHEESE

Muuna announced a line of cottage cheese products paired with premium, real pieces of fruit. The fruit-on-the-bottom flavors entail Strawberry, Blueberry, Pineapple, Peach, Mango and Lowfat Plain, and boast 130 calories, 9-11 grams of sugar and 15 grams of protein. Each 5.3-ounce single-serve cup features a suggested retail price of $1.69, while the 16-ounce multi-serve containers feature a suggested retail price of $3.49. Muuna cottage cheese products are sold in select Northeast retailers, including ShopRite and Shaw’s.
