Schwan’s Co., Bloomington, Minn., announced plans to acquire MaMa Rosa’s Pizza LLC, Sidney, Ohio, from middle-market private equity firm HGGC, Palo Alto, Calif.

Founded in 1979, MaMa Rosa’s manufactures frozen pizza for foodservice and in retail stores under the MaMa Rosa’s and Fight’n Tomato Pizza Co. brands. MaMa Rosa’s employs approximately 250 people and operates a 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Sidney.
