Plataine Inc., Waltham, Mass., was granted United States Patent #9740896 titled “A Method and System for Managing an Efficient Production Floor via The Internet of Things,” which covers a set of Industrial Internet of Things- (IIoT) and artificial intelligence- (AI) based algorithms to drive context-aware alerts and recommendations to production floor management and staff.

“We’re excited to receive recognition of our innovation, and will continue to pursue our goal to create the most advanced Industrial IoT software available, as well as to protect its value with registered patents,” says Avner Ben-Bassat, president and CEO. “Manufacturing firms from all sectors have already realized the immense opportunities that AI and IIoT have to offer for production efficiency and improved on-time, on-quality delivery. Plataine is proud to be at the cutting-edge of the process that turns production facilities into smart digital factories.”

The software’s alerts and recommendations are context-driven, whereas context is formed from multiple data sources in real time, including sensor-based data collected from the entire manufacturing eco-system and human operator input via dedicated applications. The software is also integrated with enterprise systems, such as ERP, MES and PLM software to create full context for predictive and prescriptive analytics.
