Central Storage & Warehouse Co. (CSW), a Madison, Wis.-based provider of temperature-controlled warehousing, announced the construction of a new frozen storage facility in Caledonia, Wis.

This $15 million, 115,000-square-foot freezer facility is situated south of Milwaukee, Wis., just off of Interstate 94. Site work began in early June, and is projected to be up and operational by the end of the year.

“We are proud to have earned the reputation as supply chain experts in the Milwaukee and Chicago-area food industry, and we look forward to continuing to help our customers grow their businesses with this expanded service capacity,” says John Winegarden, chief executive officer.

The new facility will operate at 0°F and employ 10-12 people when it opens. The state-of-the-art building will incorporate computer-controlled refrigeration, cool-roof technology, energy-saving dock design and high-efficiency insulation to minimize environmental impact.

The Caledonia site complements the company’s newly-built ultra-cold freezer in Pleasant Prairie, Wis., which operates at -70°F. The rooftop solar power installations in Pleasant Prairie and Madison are said to make CSW Wisconsin’s largest provider of rooftop solar energy.
