Who says there's no such thing as a free meal? To introduce its frozen pizza to more consumers, Dr. Oetker U.S.A., LLC, Mount Laurel, N.J., is preparing its second annual "Ristorante Sampling Tour." Officials say they will travel to select Northeast cities in fully equipped pizza trailers to provide consumers with fresh and tasty samples of Ristorante pizza.
Appearing at select local grocery store chains and community events, Dr. Oetker will give away free slices of its six varieties, including Mozzarella, Spinaci, Funghi, Vegetale, Quattro Formaggi, as well as introduce and sample its newest culinary creation, Speciale, which features pepperoni, cooked ham and select cheeses. Additionally, 100 lucky consumers will be picked to host a Ristorante Pizza Party at their home, which includes free pizza and all the necessary party equipment.
"The Ristorante Pizza Tour allows us to share a taste of Italy with local consumers and to demonstrate how easy it is to enjoy flavorful restaurant style pizza, at an affordable price, in the comfort of your own home," said William Whalen, executive vice president.
Refrigerated dips, salads and spreads processor Future Food Brands, Dallas, said it will distribute and sell its Salads of the Sea and Santa Barbara Bay products in new 100-percent recyclable and BPA-free oval containers that are microwave and dishwasher safe.
"Consumers and retailers are really taking to our new look," said Emily Alfano, senior marketing manager. "Because the containers are reusable, stackable and appear more modern, we're finding more people save them long after the product is gone for storing household items and other food products. Knowing our containers are multifunctional is great from both a brand perspective and an environmental outlook."
