Murray's chicken bacon

Move over pork and turkey! Here's a new flavorful bacon made with only seven ingredients. Moreover, new hardwood smoked chicken bacon from Murray's Chicken, South Fallsburg, N.Y., contains 83 percent less fat than pork bacon with no artificial preservatives or nitrates.

Murray’s says its chickens are raised on select family farms, contain no antibiotics or hormones and are fed an all-natural, 100 percent vegetarian diet. The uncured bacon is made from chicken thighs and breast meat seasoned to perfection with sea salt, maple sugar, celery powder and spices – simple, clean ingredients.

Vice President of Sales and Marketing Steve Gold notes that a one-ounce serving of Murray’s chicken bacon contains 35 calories versus 251 calories for standard pork bacon and 1 gram of fat per serving.

“We’re always responsive to the consumer and there was a huge demand for non-pork bacon made with pure, simple honest ingredients” he says. “Our new, uncured chicken bacon is in a class by itself. It has excellent texture, crisps beautifully, and offers a wonderful smoky sweetness and superb flavor.   Our uncured chicken bacon confirms once and for all premium bacon is no longer the exclusive domain of pork or turkey.”
