A successful partnership between chicken processor Perdue Incorporated, Salisbury, Md., and the Center for the Inland Bays (CIB) is highlighted as a case example in the Global Environmental Management Initiative and the Environmental Defense Fund's "Guide to Successful Corporation/NGO Partnerships." CIB is a private, non-profit organization under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Estuary Program. Since 2001, Perdue and CIB have partnered in efforts to maintain the quality of Delaware waterways.

Idaho Power Company presented a check for $561,225 to Simplot Food Group, Boise, Idaho, for energy saving efforts at Simplot's Caldwell, Idaho, potato processing plant. Specifically, officials say Simplot purchased and installed new processing equipment that will save the company more than $150,000 annually in energy bills. Idaho Power recognizes customers that complete energy efficiency upgrades. Kelly Sutton, director of manufacturing service for the Food Group, said Idaho Power's check will help offsett costs associated with the equipment purchase.
