It's a two-for-one deal. Reduced calories and added fiber in just one cup of yogurt. That's the premise behind General Mills' new Yoplait Fiber One line.

"Fifty-calorie snacks can be hard to come by," says Lisa Lillien, author of the low-calorie expert cookbook, "Hungry Girl: 200 under 200" and the Hungry-girl.com daily newsletter. "Choosing a snack like Yoplait's new 50-calorie Fiber One yogurt can help curb your midday craving without the guilt."

"As the concern over adequate fiber consumption heightens, consumers are looking for more products rich in fiber," said General Mills. "In fact, most Americans do not consume the 25 grams of fiber a day as recommended by the Institute of Medicine. Fiber One yogurt provides 20 percent of the recommended daily value of fiber and offers other health benefits with zero grams of fat and its richness in calcium as well as vitamins A and D."

New Yoplait Fiber One comes in four varieties: strawberry, vanilla, peach and key lime pie. General Mills says Fiber One will be the first nationally distributed yogurt to carry a "Hungry Girl Seal of Approval."
