In 2021, sales of refrigerated foods totaled over $83 billion, for a year-over-year growth of .3%, according to statistics by Nielsen and the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA). Those figures are compared to an unprecedented 13.3% YOY growth in 2020, which can largely be attributed to pandemic stockpiling and more product variety of refrigerated foods created by the increased use of high-pressure processing (HPP).
