In less time than it takes to order Chinese and have it delivered, home cooks now can prepare their favorite Chinese dishes. General Mills, Minneapolis, says new Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees satisfy cravings for Chinese take-out.
Designed to go from skillet to plate in 14 minutes, each new offering includes all the ingredients to prepare a complete Chinese meal for two. Officials say each 24-ounce package includes battered chicken or shrimp, aromatic jasmine rice or classic lo mein noodles, large cuts of premium vegetables and flavorful sauces. There is no added MSG.
Varieties include Orange Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein and Sweet & Spicy Shrimp. Suggested retail is about $7.49.
"Chinese food is the most frequently eaten ethnic cuisine in restaurants, yet people avoid its seemingly complicated preparation," says Liz Abate Mascolo, Wanchai Ferry marketing manager. "Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees introduce a convenience factor to the market and offer the perfect meal solution for any two people wanting to bring delicious variety to their home dining experience."
