HP Hood, Lynnfield, Mass., invested $84.6 million to increase ultra-high temperature production capacity at its Frederick County, Md., operation.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with Frederick County and the Winchester-Frederick County Economic Development Commission. Governor Bob McDonnell approved a $500,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund to assist Frederick County with the project. The Governor also approved a $1 million performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program, an incentive available to existing Virginia companies. Through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program, the Virginia Department of Business Assistance would provide funding and services to support the company’s recruitment, training and retraining activities.
