Alpine Fresh improves sustainability with drip irrigation technology
Alpine Fresh implemented a high-frequency intermittent drip (HFDI) irrigation system.
Alpine Fresh, Inc., a Doral, Fla.-based grower, packer and shipper of fresh fruits and vegetables, revealed its efforts toward sustainability.
Over the past two years, Alpine Fresh has implemented a high-frequency intermittent drip (HFDI) irrigation system. This technology combines an automatic fertigation system with a high-pressure drip irrigation methodology that doses/drips in short shifts. This specialized irrigation technology allows the farms to use 30% less water than is generally used for farming asparagus.
