Frozen Meatless Bowls, Pasta

The first from Lightlife’s latest expansion in the frozen aisle are new frozen meatless bowls. The Teriyaki Tempeh kind places hearty, organic Lightlife Tempeh at the center of the bowl, covered with brown rice and an array of vegetables and topped with a ginger teriyaki sauce. The Chickpea Curry option combines whole chickpeas, tomatoes and kale over hearty brown rice and coconut curry sauce. The Mediterranean Tempeh SKU features roasted tomatoes, zucchini, kale and organic Lightlife Tempeh over brown rice and served with a light lemon oregano sauce. The Southwestern Quinoa & Black Beans provides a healthy mix of black beans, sweet potatoes, kale and fire-roasted vegetables mixed with quinoa and a spicy ancho chile lime sauce. And, Sweet Potato Shepherd’s Pie contains Lightlife veggie sausage with corn, peas, carrots and mashed sweet potato. The new Lightlife meatless ravioli pasta meals come in Veggie Sausage (vegan pasta filled with veggie sausage, roasted red pepper, kale and vegan mozzarella cheese) and Wild Mushroom (vegan pasta filled with blend of portabella and porcini mushrooms). These new products are certified gluten-free and vegan, and deliver a suggested retail price of $4.99-5.49.

Steel Cut Oat-Based Frozen Entrees

Grainful launched a new line of internationally-inspired, ready-to-eat, steel cut oat-based frozen entrées. The Chana Masala kind is an Indian classic simmered with tomatoes, garbanzo beans and exotic Garam Masala spices such as cinnamon, cumin, cardamom and cloves. Jambalaya is a twist on a southern Creole classic with spicy andouille sausage, celery, peppers and seasoning. And, Ranchero Chicken consists of tender white chicken and black beans simmered in a tomato-Guajillo chili pepper-based sauce finished with cilantro and lime juice. These frozen meals are available in select retailers for a suggested retail price of $4.99-5.99.

Family-Size Skillet Meals

Conagra Brands’ P.F. Chang’s Home Menu brand introduced new family-size skillet meals with the help of producer, judge and television host, Carrie Ann Inaba. The Chicken Fried Rice and Orange Chicken varieties were co-developed with restaurant co-founder Philip Chiang to bring authenticity and accessibility to the classic recipes.
