Vision system confirms packaged food is properly coded, printed, sealed
METTLER TOLEDO CI-Vision, Aurora, Ill., launched the V2640 Flat Pack vision inspection system, which inspects and confirms that online equipment is producing the specified safety markings, and that printers on the line are functioning correctly. It simultaneously confirms that the package is completely sealed.
If a printer malfunctions and any required code or date is not placed on a package or is incorrect, incomplete or unreadable because of a printing error, the vision system will detect that fact and reject the item. As a result, every package leaving the facility will be in complete compliance with regulatory requirements. By tracking each product’s lot number as it passes through the processing line, the technology also provided traceability throughout the downstream supply chain.
