ELD compliance rates stick at 91% week before April 1 deadline

ELD compliance rates dropped one point this week to 91% with a 3-week moving average up one point to 88%, all this just one week shy of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s April 1 ELD enforcement deadline, according to a survey conducted by CarrierLists, Tulsa, Okla. This means that any driver stopped without an ELD after April 1 will be unable to operate for 10 hours.
“From our recent polling results along with other ELD compliance surveys we’ve seen, it looks like roughly 10% of smaller fleets are still not compliant,” says Kevin Hill, president of CarrierLists, Tulsa, Okla.
