GCCA president to depart, Schwan’s appoints new CMO, Potbelly CFO resigns and more

Koelnmesse, Germany Stefanie Mauritz was appointed director of the Anuga tradeshows, effective Feb. 1, 2020, taking over for Lorenz Rau, who will be leaving the company at the end of January 2020 to become chief executive officer of Messe Augsburg. Previously, Mauritz has been director of euvend & coffeena since 2016. After working in the field of management consulting, she joined Koelnmesse in 2004, where she worked in corporate development for 12 years, where she helped develop Koelnmesse’s extensive portfolio as part of the Global Competence in Food and FoodTec.
Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), Arlington, Va.
President and CEO Corey Rosenbusch will depart the association in February 2020 to serve as president and CEO of The Fertilizer Institute. Rosenbusch has been with GCCA for 14 years and took over as President in 2012. During his tenure, GCCA expanded its global footprint, opening offices is Brazil, Europe, India, Latin America, and South Africa; and launched new initiatives such as the Cold Chain Index, Energy Excellence and Certified Cold Carrier. Megan Costello, chief operating officer, was named interim CEO beginning Feb. 5, 2020, when Rosenbusch departs.
Produce Marketing Association (PMA), Newark, Del. Dr. Max Teplitski was named chief science officer, effective Jan. 1, 2020, tasked with leading PMA’s science, technology, supply chain and sustainability efforts. Teplitski maintains a wealth of experience in leading national food safety and nutrition programs, building and sustaining private-public partnerships and a rich research background in microbiology, biotechnology and sustainability of agricultural production. Prior to joining PMA, Teplitski most recently served as acting director for the divisions of food safety and nutrition at the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), where he oversaw NIFA's investment portfolio into research programs in food safety, human nutrition and health, novel foods and manufacturing technologies, as well as programs that incentivize purchase of fruits and vegetables among low-income consumers, increase self-reliance of communities in providing food needs, promote access to local food and deliver customized FSMA training. He also spent over a decade as a faculty member at the University of Florida, where he led a research program focused on food safety, public and environmental health and agricultural crop production. He’s also contributed to industry research through the Center for Produce Safety.
