Supplier Shorts: Packaging Materials & Equipment

Packaging Solutions Holdings, Inc., New York, N.Y., announced two key personnel appointments. It hired
Tim French as chief operating officer, effective immediately.  French previously was a vice president and general manager at Pliant Corporation. Packaging Solutions also said it hired Jon N. Solberg as vice president for business development. Officials said Solberg will lead Packaging Solutions’ initiatives in the cheese and meat packaging markets. Most recently, Solberg was a product applications Manager at PCC Industries.

Packaging Solutions Holdings was founded by Wellspring Capital Management and industry veteran Harold Bevis. The company ownsJen-Coat Inc., a Westfield, Mass., supplier of meat, cheese and produce packaging.



Diversified food packaging equipment supplierPro Mach Inc., Cincinnati, said it purchasedShuttleworth, Inc., a global conveyor automation and product handling machinery manufacturer based in Huntington, Ind.. Officials said Shuttleworth also has has facilities in Belgium and Malaysia and will become a division of Pro Mach's End of Line Business Unit.

Pro Mach said Breton Ranc, Shuttleworth chief operating officer, joined Pro Mach as vice president and general manager of the Shuttleworth division. He reports to Barry Heiser, President of Pro Mach's End of Line Business Unit.
