Sanderson Farms Inc., Laurel, Miss., said it will spend $126.5 million to construct a new feed mill, hatchery and poultry processing plant in Kinston, N.C. The new facility will process 6.7 million pounds of poultry per week and will employ 1,500 workers. The company said it will begin production this summer and expects to begin production in fourth quarter 2009.
