Private equity investor Sun Capital Partners Inc., Boca Raton, Fla., said it acquired the Placentia, Calif.-based affiliates and subsidiaries of fresh strawberry packer Sunrise Growers and its frozen strawberry processing business, Frozsun Foods. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Officials noted that Sunrise sells under its own brands as well as through its customers' private label programs. Its frozen berry operations annually produce more than 130 million pounds of processed strawberries and other fruit products.
