Logistics Briefs: Birds Eye, HK, RLS Logistics in the news
June 3, 2009
LOGISTICS BRIEFS: Automated material handling supplier HK Systems Inc., Milwaukee, Wis., said it will provide an automated guided vehicle system to frozen vegetable processor Birds Eye Foods Inc., Rochester, N.Y. HK Systems said the installation comes in conjunction with a facility expansion, although no further details were available. . . . RLS Logistics, Malaga, N.J., expects in July to complete a 40,000-square-foot addition to its 210,000-square-foot warehouse there. The expansion gives Malaga -- one of three RLS locations -- a total 19,000 pallet positions. "Expanding our facility at this time reflects a growing trend for the need for frozen and perishable food storage in the Mid-Atlantic region," said Anthony Leo, president & CEO for RLS Warehousing.
