Material handling equipment supplier Intelligrated Inc. completed its purchase of FKI Logistex operations in North and South America for an undisclosed amount from the United Kingdom's Melrose plc.

Intelligrated said Steve Ackerman, former president of FKI Logistex North America, has been named as an executive vice president.

FKI previously had been based in Cincinnati. The two companies now will be headquartered under Intelligrated's name in Mason, Ohio, a northern Cincinnati suburb.

Intelligrated is privately owned by Gryphon Investors.
