United Natural Foods, Inc. (UNFI), Providence, R.I., selected Hannibal Industries’ TubeRack systems for its new distribution center located in Gilroy, Calif. The new 400,000-square-foot building was completed in about four months, and employs more than 500 people.

Hannibal Industries, Inc., Los Angeles, worked closely with Storage Solutions, Westfield, Ind., to ensure the storage system not only met the demanding business needs of UNFI, but also met seismic requirements, building codes and fire department compliance.

“Hannibal Industries has worked hard with Storage Solutions to come up with a system for UNFI that will meet its needs, as well as carefully planned expansion options as the company grows and evolves,” says Steve Rogers, executive vice president at Hannibal. “This type of diverse warehousing setup is exactly what TubeRack is known for, as it is highly scalable and meets the ever-changing business landscape. We look forward to working more with Storage Solutions and UNFI in the future.”

“As a national provider, Storage Solutions’ primary goal is to give our customers a partner they can count on to get their projects done right, no matter the size of the facility or where it is located across the U.S.,” adds Kevin Rowles, president of Storage Solutions. “We have been working with Hannibal Industries on the UNFI project, and together we have built a system that will help UNFI distribute and deliver its products to its customers in a more efficient manner. We are pleased with our work with Hannibal, and have plans to create solutions for customers in the future.”

Hannibal’s patent-pending TubeRack system provides a stronger, safer and smarter alternative to conventional racking systems, and can be used for most storage solutions such as selective, double deep, push back, pallet flow, drive-in, retail and AS/RS systems.
