Sonwil Distribution Center, Buffalo, N.Y., opened a new operation in Arlington, Texas.

“As a growing business making its first introduction into the Southwestern market, we couldn’t be more excited to settle into one of the most dynamic economic regions in the country,” says Peter Wilson, president and CEO. “Our company is proud to hold many long-standing, trusted partnerships with some of the world’s largest manufacturers across various industry verticals, and we look forward to fully servicing both the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and wider 5-state region.”

Sonwil’s Arlington location will include parking for more than 150 employees, a cross-dock facility, secure drop trailer lot, more than 30 overhead dock doors and seven rail doors. It will be BRC and FDA Food Grade/FDA (2011 FSMA Act) certified, and will house a 229,400-square-foot warehouse with ambient storage, rail-served via Union Pacific, office space and a breakroom and restroom area.

“DFW is an extremely strategic location for our operations,” adds Wilson. “Our initial focus will be to establish this facility as our Southwestern U.S. operational hub—migrating a large, existing client to the Arlington location in order to accommodate a new distribution strategy and service their regional warehousing and distribution needs. With additional capacity available, we’ll be expanding our service offerings to other companies operating, or planning to operate, in and around the region.”
