North America’s largest greenhouse lettuce grower, Revol Greens, has acquired BJ’s Produce, operating under the widely recognized Living Fresh brand, in Athens, Georgia, to establish its first East Coast greenhouse operation.

Bowery Farming, the largest U.S. vertical farming company, announces further expansion of its leadership team on the heels of a new $300M Series C fundraise with new Senior Vice President (SVP) of sales, CPG and food industry vet, Shannon Corbett. Reporting to Katie Seawell, Bowery’s Chief Commercial Officer, Corbett will be integral to Bowery’s national expansion goals, scaling its commercial footprint across the US, unlocking new business development opportunities and building out a world-class sales organization.

Offering one of the most robust selections of greenhouse-grown lettuce products in North America, Revol Greens is now trailblazing into a new category in the greenhouse arena with their innovative line of value-added salad kits featuring their premium whole leaf lettuces.

Nature Fresh Farms is expanding its operations in Delta, Ohio, increasing their organic acreage as well as a plans to build a new distribution center. The property expansion will include doubling the greenhouse acreage from the current 45 acres to 90, with the future extension to be dedicated to year-round organics. This new greenhouse allows the company to expand organics program using state of the art tech to grow tomatoes and peppers throughout the year.

Revol Greens’ national growth strategy continues with the inaugural planting at its recently completed greenhouse in Tehachapi, California. In mid-September, the first harvest of a wide variety of organic baby leaf and head lettuce will follow inside the first phase of Revol Greens’ 64-acre greenhouse. The brand’s new West Coast presence will service retailers and restaurants throughout the region.

Nature Fresh Farms has expanded its sales team with two new hires, adding Brenda Necic and Pam Cherwak to the Nature Fresh Farms team.

Local Bounti, a U.S. indoor agriculture company, has promoted Biotech veteran Kathleen Valiasek to Chief Financial Officer and added food industry innovator Mark Nelson to the Company’s Board of Directors.

Nature Fresh Farms is expanding its greenhouse strawberry acreage with help from their longstanding growing partner Cielo Vista, from one to 16 acres, planned to be completed this fall.

Expanding what is already one of the most diverse greenhouse baby leaf and head lettuce portfolios on the market, Revol Greens is adding a large-scale chopped romaine program with three new retail varieties available at select retailers throughout the Midwest: Premium Romaine Salad, Leafy Romaine Chop, and Vibrant Romaine Blend (SRP $2.99-$3.99 for 7.5-ounce packages). There also will be channel-specific packaging available for foodservice, serviced out of the Minnesota greenhouse.
