First Solar, Inc., Tempe, Ariz., in partnership with EDP Renewables, Houston, Texas, and ConnectGen, Houston, Texas, completed the acquisition of three projects with a total nameplate design of 278 megawatts (MW) in the United States.
The solar installations will produce more than 65,000,000 kWh of renewable energy annually, enough energy to power nearly 5,500 homes and are expected to supply approximately 10-60% of each stores' overall electricity use.

More than three-quarters of voters across party lines want to see their electric utilities invest more in solar energy – the most favored form of electricity among those polled -- and want more action by the government to encourage the use of both large and small-scale solar power, according a poll released by the Global Strategy Group, New York.
The first project developed under this partnership is a 1 MW solar array installed on 368,000 square feet of a 528,000-square-foot-cold storage industrial building in Oxnard, Calif.

Edisun Microgrids, Inc., Pasadena, Calif., and West Hills Construction, Inc., a Corona, Calif.-based design-build general construction firm, announced a strategic partnership to develop up to 20 MW of commercial and industrial rooftop solar projects utilizing PV Booster, Edisun’s rooftop tracking technology.
The electricity created by this partnership will enable Organic Valley to cover 100% of its electric energy needs from renewable sources by 2019.
