Food Engineering, the sister publication of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods magazine, presents its 2019 Food Automation and Manufacturing (FA&M) Conference and Expo, scheduled to take place April 14-17 at the Doral Resort in Miami, Fla.
The study shows 35,880 units were shipped in 2018, a 7% increase over 2017.

Robots shipped to North American companies in record numbers last year, according to a study released by Robotic Industries Association (RIA), Ann Arbor, Mich., in part with the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), Ann Arbor, Mich.
This increase follows a 2-year $5 million investment in refurbishment, personnel training, construction and equipment at the company’s laboratories.

Nearly 85% of U.S. retailers haven’t completed the digitization processes (using a cloud-based platform with real-time visibility and automation capabilities) required to give them full control of their supply chain, according to new research released from Gravity Supply Chain Solutions, Chicago.
Germany-based Eye Vision Technology (EVT), developed EyeVision 3D, which features a combination of different 3D sensors, such as automation technology or smart sensors, making it suitable for the inspection of fruits and vegetables.
Occupations not requiring a bachelor’s degree are a staggering 229% more susceptible to automation compared to occupations requiring at least a bachelor’s degree.

The Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program released by the Brookings Institution, Washington, D.C., analyzes the impact of automation on the U.S. workforce, examining data focused on the mix of industries, geographies and demographic groups nationwide.
