The company owns and operates nine state-of-the-art cold storage facilities spanning nearly 78 million cubic feet of ambient, refrigerated and frozen capacity.
With an investment of £340 million, the facility will serve as M&S's primary food distribution hub, directly supplying over 200 stores and two additional regional distribution centers (RDCs), covering even more stores across the UK.
For cold and frozen storage professionals, one solution to a need for additional capacity might be the racking and storage systems currently in place. Increasing storage density may be achieved in several ways, depending on the age of the facility.
