R.A Jones Unveils Celestion MTX TopLoad Solution at Pack Expo International 2024

August 12, 2024

R.A Jones, a Coesia company and leading innovator in industrial packaging solutions, announces the debut of the Celestion MTX TopLoad platform at Pack Expo International 2024, held from November 3 to 6 in Chicago. The Celestion MTX represents the latest advancement in flexible automation, integrating advanced robotic technology to address a wide range of packaging needs.

The Celestion MTX is a versatile TopLoad packaging platform designed to handle a diverse range of products, including pouches, wraps, round products, and kits. This machine transforms paperboard or corrugated blanks into consumer-ready packages with exceptional efficiency and precision. Ideal for industries including food and beverage, personal care, pharma, and healthcare, the Celestion MTX is engineered to meet the evolving demands of today’s market.

Key benefits and features

  1. Flexibility and adaptability: The Celestion MTX platform is built to adapt to changing market demands. It offers the ability to switch between different carton and tray materials, adjust carton sizes, and change product counts or collating patterns. This flexibility ensures that customers can keep pace with shifting consumer preferences and production requirements.
  2. Innovative modular design: The Celestion MTX features a smart modular design that provides scalability and ease of integration into existing plant layouts. The machine’s modular components can be easily added or removed, allowing for quick adjustments to meet specific production needs.
  3. Advanced robotic technology: The Celestion MTX platform uses 4-axis delta robots to form cartons from flat blanks. Depending on the product, the loading section utilizes 2-axis single or tandem robots, or multiple vision-guided delta robots. The closing module employs a 3-axis articulating robot for closing and moving cartons. All robots feature product-specific electric, pneumatic, and vacuum tooling.
  4. Enhanced operator ergonomics: Designed with operators in mind, the Celestion MTX offers improved magazine capacity and ergonomic features, making it easier to handle and operate. The platform’s intuitive controls and efficient format changes enhance overall productivity and ease of use.

The Celestion MTX is not just a standalone machine; it is part of the comprehensive Coesia Systems solution. This integration allows for seamless connectivity with other Coesia machines, such as Volpak for pouches and ACMA for flow wraps, providing customers with a complete and cohesive packaging line. This holistic approach ensures optimized performance and maximized efficiency across the entire production process.

“The Celestion MTX reflects our commitment to providing flexible and scalable packaging solutions. By integrating with other Coesia technologies, we provide our customers with a seamless and efficient packaging configuration that can adapt to their specific needs,” said Jonathon Titterton, Coesia NAM and R.A Jones CEO.

Attendees of Pack Expo International 2024 are invited to visit the R.A Jones booth (S-2501) to witness the Celestion MTX in action. The live demonstrations will showcase the machine’s capabilities in packaging cans into cartons, highlighting its versatility and modular concept, featuring advanced robots for forming, loading, and closing cartons. Interactive virtual demonstrations will also be available, offering a deeper dive into the various configurations and packaging types supported by the Celestion MTX.
