Fortress Technology Unveils Multi-Lane Metal Detectors

Initial investment costs can be reduced by up to 40% compared to purchasing individual metal detectors. Courtesy Fortress Technology.
The Fortress unit consolidates a single metal detector mounted across multiple food packing and processing conveyor lines. Designed to ensure detection sensitivity levels are never compromised, the metal detector is uniquely divided into individual, smaller apertures for each conveyor lane.
Available in 2, 3, 4 and 5 lane configurations, rather than staggering individual metal detectors for each conveyor line, a Fortress multi-aperture metal detector can reduce an equipment footprint by over 50%.
Initial investment costs can be reduced by up to 40% compared to purchasing individual metal detectors. With just one metal detection system to maintain and manage, processors experience less operational expenses; attributed to reduced maintenance and parts required.
Additionally, Fortress multi-aperture systems single out and reject metal contaminated products independently on each line. Each unit has a single HMI panel to manage and collate all data across all lanes.
This can lead to considerable waste savings.
Inspecting up to 200 ppm per line, a Fortress multi-lane, multi-aperture metal detector can also be combined with a Fortress Technology checkweigher. This allows for weight and contaminant rejects to be segregated.
