Munters, a global leader in climate control, has officially opened a new flagship facility for desiccant humidification products in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The 430,000-square-foot site is also home to its service business and will produce a range of climate control solutions for the North American market.

This investment is an important part of achieving the company’s long-term growth objectives, with the ambition of doubling in size and halving its climate footprint by 2030.

To better meet the demand for precision temperature and humidity control solutions, this new, more sustainable facility significantly increases capacity, improves workflows, and supports the delivery of higher levels of customer service in Munters target markets.

"I am very pleased that the facility is in place. The inauguration is an important step in our long-term growth strategy and climate ambitions, where we are investing in regional production for regional markets. The facility in Amesbury is proof of that strategy, and with it, we will better meet the needs of the American market,” said Henrik Teiwik, president of the AirTech business area.

The new facility has been built with sustainability at its core, achieved through the electrification of processes and equipment, significant energy efficiency improvements, and the use of renewable electricity, including a rooftop solar array. Additional amenities have been incorporated throughout the site, ensuring that a welcoming and inclusive environment is provided for all.

The new site houses nearly 350 employees, working in operations, R&D, sales, service, and administration.
