Vertical Cold Storage's Indy Site Earns Organic Certification

It enables the company to serve the specialized storage and handling needs of clients participating in CME Group’s Spot Call Butter market while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, security and traceability.
Vertical Cold Storage, a leading provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions, is proud to announce that its Indianapolis facility received organic certification from Where Food Comes From Organic, Inc.
The comprehensive certification process included a complete documentation review, on-site inspection, and standard operating procedure (SOP) evaluation by WFCF Organic experts.
This milestone arose directly from a specific customer request, reflecting Vertical Cold Storage’s proactive and agile approach to complex operational needs.
“This certification isn’t just about compliance, it’s about partnership,” said Jim Henderson, chief commercial officer of Vertical Cold Storage. “A customer came to us with a need and we delivered. That’s what ‘embrace complexity’ means to us: when customers bring us their challenges, we take it from there.”
By securing organic certification, the Indianapolis facility enables customers to consolidate SKUs from multiple origins into a single location, improving efficiency and simplifying the supply chain. This helps companies meet supply chain obligations to deliver organically produced foods to their retail and wholesale partners.
The organic certification builds on a growing list of value-added services recently introduced by Vertical Cold Storage, including bonded warehousing capabilities and in-house date coding services, each designed in response to evolving customer demands.
