Logistics Briefs

LOGISTICS BRIEFS: Convenience store operator 7-Eleven Inc., Dallas, plans Jan. 28 to officially open a  130,000-square-foot commissary and "combined distribution center" in Bohemia, N.Y. The Long Island facility will prepare and deliver fresh product to as many 674 stores in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. . . . Gordon Food Service, Grand Rapids, Mich., said it expects by the end of this year to build a 150,000-square-foot distribution center, the company's 11th site, near Pottsville, Pa. Gordon's first  Pennsylvania warehouse will employ about 100 people. . . . Automated material handling and software supplier HK Systems Inc., Milwaukee, said it promoted Michael Gonzalez, president and chief operating officer, to chief executive officer. . . . Refrigerated and frozen food transportation management provider Jameson Logistics, New Port Richey, Fla., said it is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
