Public refrigerated warehousing operator Merchants Terminal Corp., Baltimore, said it hired F. Brooks Royster III as vice president, responsible for new facility construction, international marketing, acquisitions and new facility development. Royster most recently was executive director for the Maryland Port Administration and has more than 35 years experience in the maritime industry in both the public and private sectors.
"As port director in Baltimore, Brooks demonstrated a breadth of shipping industry knowledge and led the port's growth in cargo, facilities and Homeland Security [activities] during volatile times," said Merchants President Harry Halpert. "I consider our company very fortunate to have the opportunity to benefit from his experience and leadership skills as Merchants Terminal takes advantage of the Port of Baltimore's superior inland position as fuel costs and truck driver constraint reshape international logistics."
