Industrial food conveyor equipment supplier Dorner Manufacturing Corp., Hartland, Wis., said it promoted John Kuhnz to marketing director, responsible for all marketing and advertising initiatives. Kuhnz also will coordinate new product research and development functions for industrial and sanitary markets.
Food packaging supplier Berry Plastics Corporation, Evansville, Ind., said it completed its purchase of Superfos Packaging, Inc. from Superfos a/s, Taastrup, Denmark. Superfos Packaging's Cumberland, Md., plant manufactures injection molded plastic rigid, open-top containers and other plastic packaging products for food applications.
I.D. Systems, Inc., Hackensack, N.J., said it purchased Asset Intelligence, LLC, a business unit of General Electric Co., for $15 million in cash, with an additional cash consideration of up to $2 million payable upon the achievement of certain performance milestones. Asset Intelligence provides trailer
and container tracking solutions for manufacturers, retailers, shippers and freight transportation providers, and has more than 120,000 units under contract, officials said.
"This acquisition positions I.D. Systems to become the world's preeminent provider of wireless information technology for managing high-value corporate assets," said Jeffrey Jagid, I.D. Systems' chairman and CEO.
